The Work Area on Missions
is responsible for the
year round program of mission education, to discover the needs of the
community and engage the congregation in missions and service projects
which address these needs, to be aware of opportunities for mission
service through the church, and to expand the benevolence budget of the
church. To this end, the work area has actively engaged in many church-wide and community projects.
Among these are:
- Missionary Support
Currently we are supporting
Daniel and
Lisa
Godwin, missionaries to Equador. Click on their first names to
see their biographical sketches. Much of our support to them is provided by the Easter Offering. The following link

Society of St. Andrew - Potato Project
Each fall, usually after the second worship service one Sunday in September, we have a Potato Luncheon. This meal
consists of a salad, a baked potato with assorted toppings, a potato pie (or tart) and a piece of potato candy. It is funded
by donation. Monies raised are then contributed to the Society of St. Andrew to help with the cost of getting
gleaned and contributed food products to where they are needed to help feed the hungry.
Thanksgiving Food Boxes
are filled and delivered each year to the needy. A list of fifty families is obtained from
Social Services and
contributions of food from the congregation and community are solicited. Church volunteers pack
the boxes with enough food to feed the fifty families of four or five for a week. Other volunteers then deliver the boxes to each
family on the list.
